AU week 1

Hi everyone this is my first post,I know I still have problems with some parts of the anatomy and proportion, looking forward to your critiques on how to improve :) I'm still not sure how you guys do your process especially for long pose, but I'm learning a lot looking back at the old posts :) I hope we can all help each other here, glad to be part of this group.

  1. The drawing is very stylized, which isn't a bad thing in itself. Here, however, you've taken her hips and made them wider, while making her midsection and ribcage smaller. The biggest thing that jumps out at me is the gesture: she's standing in a contraposto stance, with hips and shoulders slanting at opposing angles, whereas you have her standing almost straight on; there's barely any tilt. It's most noticeable with her left shoulder. Her head is also a bit downturned, but again, in your drawing, she's facing us head on. Good use of values, though. :)

    1. Also, I would push the values a bit more (stronger highlights/shadows). You're pretty much staying in the mid-range, there.
